The methods to access the fund can be of two types:
1a. Training account
In this case, the fund is fed through the allocation of a percentage of the gross payroll of the employees of the company that is participating. This share is nothing more than the “mandatory contribution for involuntary unemployment” that the company is still required to pay to the INPS and that since 2003 can be used to train its employees. The INPS therefore transfers this contribution to the chosen fund that will finance the training activities for the employees of the member companies.

Some funds include the periodic publication of competition notices to which companies can participate by presenting their Training Plan.

The Regions periodically publish competition notices for the “Continue Education” which is open to the companies based in that Region. Access to this type of financed training takes place through the publication of a ranking list.
3. Tax credit
The Budget Law 2018 introduced a tax credit to companies that in 2018 will invest in training activities focused on technological knowledges about the Industry 4.0. This tax credit is attributed in the amount of 40% of the expenses related to the cost of employees for the period in which they are engaged in training activities and for a maximum amount of 300,000 euros.
